Update on New Skincare Products

A month ago I wrote an in-depth post about some new skincare products I had bought, and now I am here to update you on my opinions of these products!

The products I have tested are the Niacinamide solution from The Ordinary and the facial lotion from Cetaphil.

The Ordinary
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

About: The mix of Niacinamide and Zinc reduces the look of blemishes and balances visible sebum activity. It is fragrance-free and alcohol-free.

Why I bought it: Before I bought this product I had heard mix opinions about this product. The reason I bought it is because I have struggled with my skin the past year and hoped it would help regulate the sebum activity on my chin and cheeks. I also hoped it would improve my skin texture by reducing the look of the blemishes in my skin.

My experience: I tested this product for 4 days, twice per day. I feel like I didn’t give this product a long enough testing, but I broke out after 2 days of use. I did continue for 2 more days, but I didn’t want to take any more chances since my skin broke out.

I plan to try this product again in the future because I really want it to work!

Facial Lotion

About: This lotion hydrates your face without clogging your pores, and leaves your skin feeling soft without feeling greasy. It strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier. This lotion is recommended by dermatologists and clinically approved. For sensitive to normal skin.

Why I bought it: I have been using the Nivea Care Intensive Nourishment moisturizer for many years and needed a change. I read many good reviews about this lotion and decided to try it out!

My experience: This product is now a part of my skincare routine and is my go-to moisturizer. It is very lightweight and I love that it is fragrance-free. It lets my skin breathe and I know this bottle will last a long time because a little goes a long way! It works great under my makeup too.
