Rediscovering My Green Fingers

I feel like I have introduced you to one too many of my hobbies – but here I got another one: gardening. I have always loved gardening and keeping plants, and when the summer arrives so does my green fingers!

The other day I got the sudden urge to start gardening. So I went out and got some basics for gardening, and I thought it would be fun to blog about the development. Disclaimer: I am a beginner, so any tips are welcome! 😛

I got a mini greenhouse, tomato seeds, basil seeds and some soil briquettes (I don’t know if this is the correct word for it). Since the temperature change a lot in Norway, I am keeping the greenhouse inside and then I will replant them outside when the time is right.

I started with preparing everything – the seeds, a container with luke warm water, the greenhouse etc. Then I placed 18 soil briquettes into the container with water, and waited for a good 10-15 minutes to let them expand as in the pictures below.

When the briquettes were fully expanded, I placed them in the greenhouse and placed 2-3 seeds into each briquette. I did half-half of each – 9 pots of basil, and 9 pots of tomato.

It’s been two years since I last gardened, I was home for the summer 2018 and planted some tomato seeds. They became huge and beautiful, but I had to leave them since I was living in Paris at the time. In Paris I didn’t really have the place and energy to keep plants, but now as I am back in Norway my green fingers can thrive!

It has been two days now since I planted them, I am already very impatient and excited for them to grow. I will keep you posted about the development!
