New Books in My Collection

Hi everyone,

Today I am going to talk to you about reading and the new books in my collection. I myself am an avid reader – I read as much as I can, whenever I can. Reading helps me in many ways – it calms me down after a long day, it helps my mind relax, and it educates me.

10 Ways Reading Affects Psyche

My collection grows more and more every year, and with every book my experiences grow too. Books allow us to educate ourselves on different experiences and histories – that is why I enjoy a good variety of books, from crimes, classics and love stories.

I have a long list of books I want to buy – and the list keeps getting longer. My dream is to create a wall of books in my future home, like the ones you can see below.

This month I bought three of the books on my list, and I thought it would be a good idea to share them with you. As I said earlier, I enjoy all kinds of genres and you can definitely notice that in this “haul”.

Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman

This book is a coming-of-age romantic drama, and the reason I bought this was the trailer for the movie. I came over the trailer not long ago, and the story looked very interesting. Every time I see a good movie I always check if there’s a book, and every time I read a good book, I check if there’s a movie.

The novel centers on a blossoming romantic relationship between an intellectually precocious and curious 17-year-old American-Italian Jewish boy named Elio Perlman and a visiting 24-year-old American Jewish scholar named Oliver in 1980s Italy. The novel chronicles their summer romance and the 20 years that follow.

Molly’s Game by Molly Bloom

This is another book I bought because of the movie. I really enjoyed the story of the movie, and the movie is based on the memoir written by Molly Bloom. If you are not a reader, I recommend you to watch the movie!

Molly’s Game is an incredible coming-of-age story about a young girl who rejected convention in pursuit of her version of the American dream. It’s the story of how she gained—and then lost—her place at the table, and of everything she learned about poker, love, and life in the process.

The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson

I found this book at the book section of the grocery store and I found the summary very intriguing. I only read books written in English as I find the vocabulary of the Norwegian language not sufficient – therefore I ordered it in English online.

On a night flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. But their game turns a little darker when Ted jokes that he could kill his wife for what she’s done.
